Job summary

YYC FRAMING INC. in Calgary, AB is seeking a Construction helper to join our team. You will load, unload and transport materials, assist in framing, pour concrete, and help with site preparation and cleanup.

This is a permanent, full-time position with varied shifts including day, evening, weekend and morning. Ideal candidates are hard-working, reliable, and capable of heavy lifting in outdoor, noisy environments. No formal education is required; experience is an asset.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload and transport construction materials.
  • Assist in erecting/dismantling forms, scaffolding, ramps, and barricades.
  • Mix, pour and spread concrete and asphalt materials.
  • Assist in framing houses, walls and roof construction.
  • Level earth to grade specifications and prepare sites.
  • Clean and stack salvaged materials; manage spills and debris.
  • Operate/assist in construction machines; maintain site cleanliness.

  • The candidate must load, unload, and transport construction materials.
  • The candidate must be capable of erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • The candidate will be responsible for mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • The candidate must help the medical examiner in charge.
  • The candidate will be required to assist in the framing of houses, the erection of walls, and the construction of roofs.
  • The candidate must level earth to fine grade specifications.
  • The candidate must clean and stack salvaged materials.
  • The candidate must clean up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • The candidate must remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tending or feeding construction machines and equipment.
Job Requirements
  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate must be hardworking.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
