Job summary

The Canadian Brewhouse in Edmonton is seeking a Finisher for our Construction department to maintain a high-throughput finishing pipeline and uphold a defect-free quality standard for premium millwork projects.

You will prepare wood surfaces, perform color matching for stains/paints, apply protective coats, and inspect final finish to ensure top quality. The role targets a 98% defect-free rate, with hours 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday–Friday at our shop location in Edmonton.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the trade, or status as a 2nd/3rd year apprentice.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management, schedule adherence, order prioritization and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare wood surfaces by sanding and filling imperfections to achieve a flawless base.
  • Perform precision color matching for stains and paints to meet cabinet specifications.
  • Apply protective and decorative coats using spraying or hand-application techniques.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure quality and target a high defect-free rate.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Finisher for our Construction department to maintain a high-throughput finishing pipeline while upholding a defect-free quality standard. You will serve as a vital link between the assembly team and final delivery, ensuring that custom projects move through the shop efficiently, safely, and without production bottlenecks. Furthermore, we need an individual who will always live by our Core Values and lead every interaction with our company purpose: "Be The Place People Want To Be".

What do you bring?

You bring 3+ years of experience in the trade, or hold a current status as a 2nd or 3rd year apprentice. You possess strong multitasking and organizational abilities, alongside problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise. You excel at time management, schedule adherence, order prioritization, and resource allocation. With your keen attention to detail, you are driven to maximize production efficiency.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will prepare all wood surfaces by sanding and filling imperfections to ensure a completely flawless base. You will be responsible for performing precision color matching to guarantee that all stains and paints meet the exact specifications of custom cabinetry. Your daily tasks will include applying protective and decorative coats to the woodwork using professional spraying or hand-application techniques.

You will also thoroughly inspect the completed project to ensure the final finish meets the highest quality standards. Your key performance objective is to maintain a minimum 98% defect-free rate on high-end millwork pieces prior to delivery, while balancing production efficiency, maintenance, safety, and technical versatility. Your standard work hours will be 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise determined by the needs of the Business.
