Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Construction Administrator/Project Manager in Ottawa to lead day-to-day project execution. You will develop contract documents, manage the contract administration phase, and interface with contractors and architectural teams.

You will review shop drawings, RFIs, and CCNs, with field reviews of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, medical gas, and fire protection for various facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited program.
• PEO and OACETT licensing preferred.
• Minimum five years of mechanical systems design experience for commercial/institutional/industrial facilities.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Strong leadership and project-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop contract documents with supervisor and manage contract administration.
• Interface with contractors and architectural teams; review shop drawings and RFIs.
• Conduct site reviews and CCN creation; oversee field reviews of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, medical gas, fire protection.
• Lead project teams and monitor technical and financial delivery.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards.

Mechanical Construction Administrator/ Project Manager

Ready to lead challenging projects and make an impact on some of our most significant work?

We’re seeking a talented Construction Administrator/ Project Manager to drive day-to-day project execution, guide the development of contract documents, and provide leadership through construction administration from design through completion for a variety of projects, including a major, complex high profile development.

Job Summary:

In this role you will: work with your supervisor to develop contract documents and be responsible for the contract administration phase of the project which includes interface with contractor's and architectural teams, review of shop drawings, site review, review of RFI's and the creation of CCN's. You can also expect field review of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, medical gas systems and fire protection systems including sprinkler and standpipe systems for various building facilities.

Skills/abilities:

• At least five (5) years' experience designing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional and/or industrial buildings.
• University or college degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology from accredited institution.
• Registered with provincial licensing bodies PEO and OACETT preferred.
• Experience in healthcare preferred.
• Must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and lead diverse project teams with a strong track record of project delivery from both a technical and financial perspective.
• Established strong leadership, client service and project management skills.
• Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills teamed with your ability to problem solve and make analytical, timely and well thought out decisions.
• Advanced working knowledge of the provincial building code, ASHRAE, CSA and NFPA standards.
• Familiarity with Revit.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a vehicle.

Location: Ottawa, ON (on-site with eventual Hybrid possibilities)

Compensation:

$90,000 - $120,000 CAD depending on experience
