Job summary

Beth David Congregation in Toronto is seeking an Executive Director to lead operations, governance and strategic growth. The role collaborates with clergy, staff and the Board to sustain and expand services for the Jewish community at Beth David and beyond.

The successful candidate will manage budgeting, facilities, communications, fundraising and program development, while fostering a welcoming, secure and vibrant congregation environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a nonprofit or community organization.
• Proven ability to develop strategic plans and oversee implementation.
• Strong budgeting, financial oversight and governance capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communications, with community engagement skills.
• Experience in fundraising, donor relations and event coordination.
• Team leadership and staff development, with ability to collaborate across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational leadership and collaborate with clergy, staff and Board.
• Oversee staffing, development, and high-quality member services.
• Lead programming, membership growth and event planning.
• Implement effective communications to members and external audiences.
• Manage information systems and data security, including appropriate IT policies.
• Drive fundraising campaigns, donor outreach and external engagement.
• Oversee financial management and annual budgeting processes.
• Oversee building and property maintenance to ensure a welcoming environment.
