Job description

Salary Range : $55,000 -$60,000 (CAD)

How You’ll Make an Impact :
  • Identify the client’s objectives and expectations and provide subsequent recommendations
  • Attend planning meetings as required
  • Liaise with vendors and stakeholders during the event planning process
  • Supervise the Conference Planning team and ensure proper coordination of timelines internally to meet client expectations
  • Create “Meetings Excellence” service offering by designing unique space and ensuring service delivery through development of Standard Office Procedures (SOPs) and training for staff
  • Build relationships and prospect future sales from client lists and references from existing clients
  • Use promotional packages and other marketing materials to increase the sales potential of our client through marketing added value services to prospective customers
  • Conduct site tours as required to market the facilities for prospective customers.
  • Be active in networks of various organizations / associations to build customer networks as well as suppliers for specialized event services or products
  • Manage Key Client events
  • Establish and administer event quotes, contracts, and progress.
  • In line with financial objectives, design and develop special event proposals that conceptualize and plan the meeting of customer requirements
  • Conduct site inspections throughout planning to ensure everything adheres to the client’s standards
  • Coordinate with external vendors, complete financial billing review and complete daily and weekly reporting
What You’ll Need to Succeed :
  • 3-5 of experience in event management, preferably with specialized post-secondary education
  • Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) preferred
  • Revenue focused and seeks opportunity in all communication with customers
  • Strong financial management skills re : financial analysis, procurement of vendor services etc
  • Exceptionally service oriented
  • Well-organized multi-tasker
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player to maintain effective relationships and communication between various departments involved in the delivery of any conference or event.
  • Experience in sales and marketing, as it relates to creating proposals and managing sales objectives
  • Software skills include Delphi, Social Tables, Microsoft Office
  • Must be a self-starter, able to take initiative, running projects from start through to completion with minimal oversight
