Title: Computer Technician

Posting Overview

The Computer Technician will report to the Coordinator of Technical Services. This position provides effective and efficient technical installation, repair and maintenance to a wide variety of LKDSB computer equipment (software and hardware), computer peripherals, networking infrastructure, and audio-visual equipment. The position supports all schools and board offices.

Qualifications / Experience
  • Three-year college diploma in the field of Information Technology is a minimum.
  • MCSE/MCITP, CompTIA A+ certification, Net+ certification are an asset.
  • One year of experience in the field of Information Technology is preferred.
Other Key Skills & Knowledge
  • Excellent technical knowledge and ability, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Configure and repair computer equipment and peripherals.
  • Installation of software.
  • Technical support to end users.
  • Use diagnostic and utility software to monitor, investigate, diagnose, and resolve technical problems.
  • Support and maintenance of all: Smart Boards, projectors, video conferencing systems, audio/video control systems in meeting rooms, and digital announcement systems and attached displays.
  • Requires to carry and work on ladder up to 8 feet, lift and carry and install equipment up to 42 lbs.
  • Help Desk coverage as required.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to all LKDSB sites.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Position Effective Date & Length

Permanent, CUPE 12 month, 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

This position will be based out of Sarnia I.T. Dispatch - 816 Confederation Street, Sarnia.

Level 5 - $31.64/hour - $33.39/hour
