Qualifications

  • Must have CAD drawing experience and basic math skills for measurements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and follow safety procedures.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada without restrictions.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines on first shift.
  • Select cutting tools, tool paths, speeds and feeds for each job.
  • Process orders per customer specifications.
  • Verify parts accuracy via inspection procedures.
  • Maintain specifications using measurement tools and adjust controls as needed.
  • Complete preventive maintenance and report issues to supervisor.
  • Document actions and communicate across shifts; perform other duties as assigned.

About the role:

The CNC Operator (first shift) role requires a determined individual interested in helping our business grow by promoting a culture of teamwork, dedication and superior customer care. What you’ll do:
  • Operate CNC machines
  • Select cutting tools, tool paths, cutting speeds and feed rates appropriate for each job
  • Process each order per order/customer specifications
  • Verify accuracy of parts by adhering to inspection process set by management
  • Maintain specifications by observing and taking measurements using tape measures and micrometers; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; notifying warehouse lead and/or calling for repairs
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting/communicating actions, irregularities, and needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need:
  • CAD drawing experience
  • Ability to calculate requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Follow all security procedures
  • High level of honesty and integrity
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must pass a background investigation as part of the selection process
  • Must pass the drug test as part of the selection process
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada
  • (Preferred) – High School Diploma or GED
