Location: Olds, AB T4H 1M6 – On site

Salary: $38.00 to $42.00 hourly (to be negotiated); 30 to 40 hours per week

Employment: Permanent, Full time; Starts as soon as possible

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate access and use of computer networks
  • Install software
  • Install web server hardware and software
  • Load printer with paper and forms
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software
  • Provide problem‑solving services to network users
  • Implement data, software and hardware security procedures
  • Perform routine network start‑up and clean‑down and maintain control records
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
  • Modify web pages, applets and scripts
  • Research and apply meta‑data to websites and register websites with search engines
  • Respond to requests for help and information from website visitors and website designers
  • Perform web‑server backup and recovery operations
  • Supervise technical staff
Qualifications

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma

Experience: 5 years or more in network technology
