Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Section Head, Site Supervisor or designate, the Computed Tomography (CT) & Medical Imaging Technologist performs special procedures such as Computerized Tomography (CT) a majority of the time, as well as general and additional medical imaging procedures. Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, forms and reports; prioritizing workload, preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment; patient monitoring; operating acquisition equipment and computerized patient data systems; archiving acquired images; and assuming in charge and shift related responsibilities, including evening, weekend and night shifts and working without general supervision, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience

Graduation from an approved Radiology Technologist Diploma program and eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Recent, relevant experience in radiography and computed tomography (CT), completion of an accepted CT certificate program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
