Mistras Services is looking for Composite Wind Turbine Blade Repair Technicians to support its 2026 wind energy work based across Canada from end of April/beginning of May to September/October 2026.

With minimal supervision, the Composite Wind Turbine Blade Repair Technician must utilize skill and training to safely perform composite repair and retrofit work on wind turbine components.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
  • Act as a safety role model and intervene when unsafe acts are identified
  • Assess, plan and perform composite repairs as required
  • Perform basic and complex fiberglass repairs on wind turbine blades, nacelles and nose cones. This includes reading and following work instructions, layup schedules as well as using tools and techniques typical of the composite repair trade
  • Document repair progress and prepare repair reports
  • Collect information and create inspection reports
  • Liaise with management on project work
  • Liaise with clients and site operations crew to ensure scope of job is understood and well executed
  • Provide mentorship and training of less experienced technicians
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in composite wind turbine blade repair
  • Ability to complete multi-layer structural repairs
  • Able to calculate mixing ratios and curing times of composite repair materials
  • Knowledge of lightning protection system testing and repair
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team oriented
  • Valid drivers’ license
  • Ability to pass company’s pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
  • If you are a foreign worker, you must have an open work permit in Canada
QUALIFICATIONS (OPTIONAL)
  • Team supervision on ropes or platforms, GWO AST training - BRT, Confined Space, First Aid, ASP Construction, WHSA, LOTO, WHIMS, WAH Ontario
  • IRATA Rope Access Level I, II or III Certification
  • Certified Composite Technician certificate
  • Experience working from suspended work platforms
  • Experience with industrial paints and coatings
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
  • Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to work at height from rope or suspended working platforms
  • Must be able to tolerate working in extreme climates for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to tolerate numerous hours spent stooping, crawling, kneeling, standing and walking.
  • Must be comfortable working in cramped or confined spaces.
  • Must wear required protective and safety equipment (respirator, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, fall arrest, etc.)
  • This role will require travel, working overtime, including a flexible and variable work schedule as needed to meet business objectives
