Job description

We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our dynamic and collaborative compliance team. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with foundational knowledge in financial services or insurance compliance who is eager to learn and grow. You will play a key role in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal compliance standards across multiple business lines (ABIC, ABLAC, ASCI).

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Regulatory Filings & Licensing
  • Prepare and manage corporate and regulatory filings for multiple legal entities.
  • Research and analyze licensing requirements, lead interactions with regulatory staff.
  • Support licensing activities under the Restricted Insurance Agent regime.
Compliance Programs & Oversight
  • Conduct distribution oversight activities and monitor legislative/regulatory developments.
  • Oversee compliance-related programs such as AML/ATF screenings and monthly OSFI filings.
  • Facilitate Compliance Outsourcing Arrangements oversight program.
Training & Reviews
  • Administer compliance training programs and ensure 100% completion.
  • Perform compliance reviews of marketing and client-facing materials.
Reporting & Policy Development
  • Draft policies and procedures; contribute to compliance reports for senior management.
  • Assist with market conduct reviews, complaint handling, and privacy matters.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
  • University or college degree required (any discipline; compliance coursework is a plus).
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience within Compliance, including internships or co-op placements in banking, insurance, or financial services.
  • Familiarity with Canadian regulatory frameworks (OSFI guidelines).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
