Job summary

Carefor Health & Community Services in Eastern Ontario is seeking a dedicated Driver to operate a passenger van, transport clients to appointments, and support mobility needs. You will ensure safety, assist clients in entering/exiting, and maintain accurate records. The role requires a valid Ontario drivers license, 3 years of driving experience, and flexible hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education preferred.
• Must have a current valid driver’s license, Class G or higher in Ontario.
• Minimum 3 years driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Experience working with seniors and/or persons with disabilities is an asset.
• Must be at least 25 years of age for insurance purposes.
• Ability to work flexible hours including shift work, days, evenings, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Pick up at specified location, at designated time and transport to destination on time.
• Guide or assist client to get in and out of the vehicle.
• Escort clients as required from door to door and confirm arrival with the destination staff.
• Load and secure mobility aids safely.
• Record drives, mileage, fares, and time as required by Carefor.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Keep interior and exterior of vehicle clean and fuel at least ¾ full.
• Attend in-service or department meetings and follow safety procedures.
