Job summary

Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority is seeking a Home Care Attendant at the Eriksdale Community Health Office to provide personal and supportive care under the care plan. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to help clients remain independent and safe at home, following policy and program standards.

The position is casual relief, with day and evening shifts, requiring good communication, critical thinking, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Health Care Aide Course from an accredited college.
• Other combinations of education/experience may be considered at a commensurate classification/salary.
• Previous experience working with elderly or infirm is preferred.
• Ability to provide safe, effective, personal care in a manner that respects privacy and dignity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal and supportive care following the care plan and program standards.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary health team to promote integrated care.
• Support clients to remain independent and safe at home for as long as possible.
