Job summary

Arbor Memorial's NISBETT FUNERAL HOME in Peterborough, ON, is seeking a Funeral Director Assistant to support Funeral Directors and help families with compassionate, professional service.

You will greet families, assist with removals and transfers, help prepare rooms during visitations and services, and drive funeral vehicles as needed. This role is part-time/on-call with casual shifts and opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer care
• Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to partner with all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting families upon their arrival at the funeral home
• Assisting with removals, transfers of decedent to the funeral home or crematorium as required
• Assisting with the preparation of various rooms during visitations, funeral services, burials and related tasks
• Driving funeral vehicles when required
• Performing general building upkeep and ensuring maintenance of funeral service vehicles
• Other duties or special projects as required
