Job summary

Christenson Developments Ltd. is seeking a compassionate Companion to support residents at Ravines at Park Avenue in Rocky Mountain House, AB.

The role focuses on helping residents with daily living activities, mobility, and mealtime support within a continuing care setting. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to promote comfort, dignity and independence, build meaningful relationships with seniors, and participate in social activities to enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for working with seniors.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to resident care.
• Currently enrolled in or working toward completion of a Health Care Aide program is considered a strong asset.
• Previous experience supporting seniors in healthcare, hospitality, or continuing care setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with mobility and safely escort or porter residents throughout the community.

Description

Position Summary

The Companion provides hands-on support to residents in a continuing care environment, helping them maintain comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life. Other Bona-Fide Occupational Requirements

• Physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the position (may be required to lift, move, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 kilograms).


• Ability to workon his/her feet for a complete shift while constantly bending, stretching, walking, lifting or moving things.


• A current and clear Criminal Records Check completed in the past six (6) months including Vulnerable Sector Check is required for all new site-based employees.


• Physically capable of performing assigned duties within a flexible work schedule inside a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week operation.


• Must be able to work evenings, nights, and weekends, as required.
