Job summary

IntegraSupport Services in Comox, BC is seeking compassionate Community Support Workers. Casual shifts support adults with developmental disabilities, providing person-centered care, daily living assistance, and community inclusion.

You will implement care plans, monitor well-being, and maintain thorough documentation while following trauma-informed approaches. Relevant CSW education and certifications are required, with a supportive, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications

• CSW Diploma or equivalent education and/or relevant experience.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence is required.
• Current First Aid with CPR C.
• Valid TB Test.
• MANDT Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care to individuals with diverse physical, developmental, and mental health needs, promoting dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, peri-care, continence care, and changing, while respecting privacy and preferences.
• Support clients with household tasks, including meal planning, preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, and grocery shopping.
• Support clients in participating in community, recreational and social activities to encourage inclusion and build life skills.
• Implement individualized care plans, monitor clients’ well-being, and communicate changes to the team.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily progress notes and incident reports, following health and safety procedures.

About theRole

Dutiesand Responsibilities:

About You

Qualifications

• CommunitySupport Worker (CSW) Diploma or equivalent education and/or relevantexperience.
• ValidClass 5 BC Driver’s Licence is required
• CurrentFirst Aid with CPR C
• ValidTB Test
• MANDTCertification (or willingness to obtain)
• SatisfactoryCriminal Record Check

Skillsand Abilities

• Experiencewith FASD, ADHD, OCD, autism spectrum, aggressive, challenging, andself-harming behaviour considered an asset.
• Experiencein a medical setting with G/J-tube and/or trach care knowledge an asset.
• Abilityto support individuals with personal care needs, including bathing, grooming,toileting, peri-care, and mobility assistance.
• Abilityto assist with household tasks, including meal preparation, laundry, andmaintaining a safe and supportive living environment.
• Abilityto work independently while also collaborating effectively within a teamenvironment.
• Strongunderstanding of person-centered care, trauma-informed practices, and positivebehavior support strategies.
