We are seeking an RPN for a community client in Coldwater/Orillia. The shift is 7:20am-3:20pm, 4 days per week and 1 bi-weekly overnight shift (total = 5 shifts bi-weekly weekends). The RPN is expected to accompany the client to school to monitor seizure activity. We are looking for ongoing staff that can commit to regular shifts with this client and pick up additional shifts with other clients as needed.

The successful candidate’s areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Conducting assessments and reassessments
  • Developing, monitoring, and updating plans of care, as assigned
  • Providing medication support and administration
  • Responding to all emergency situations
  • Completingreports and communicating with the family about any changes in care
  • Meeting the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario at all times
  • All other duties, as assigned
Key qualifications for this position will include, but are not limited to:
  • Current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Vulnerable sector screenand 2 satisfactory professional references
  • Ability toaccurately follow written and verbal instructions
  • G-tube experience, med resistive and reactive, comfortable with managing seizures
  • Must have a valid license and reliable vehicle
  • Willingness to adjust to a scent-free lifestyle due to scents triggering seizure activity
  • Effective time management skills to work under specified time constraints and in accordance with job routines, while observing policies and procedures as well as applicable work standards and safety regulations
