Job summary

CBI Health is actively seeking Community Occupational Therapists for future opportunities across Ontario, including Ottawa. This role involves providing in-home, community, and clinic-based OT services within the Community Rehabilitation Services team, with emphasis on trauma-informed care and motor-vehicle recovery pathways.

We offer extensive training, mentorship, and a supportive multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required and access to reliable vehicle is preferred for travel.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage caseload and documentation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for client interactions and reporting.
• Empathy and the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a self-directed environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services in home, community, and clinic settings across Ontario.
• Participate in in-vivo exposure therapy and trauma-informed care where applicable.
• Coordinate care with a multi-disciplinary CRS team to support client return to function.
• Document assessments, treatment plans and progress notes accurately.
• Offer flexible scheduling and remote treatment options when appropriate.

About CBI Health’s Community Rehabilitation Services

Working in communities across Ontario, our Community Rehabilitation Services team treats clients who’ve experienced mental stress injuries and motor vehicle accidents, focusing on a return to pre-accident function.

In our Traumatic Psychological Injury program, Occupational Therapists work with clients such as first responders who’ve experienced trauma in the workplace. They have the opportunity to conduct in-vivo exposure therapy and behavioural activation, and facilitate trauma processing, coping and return to function. Our innovative approach to evidence-based care incorporates novel interventions like virtual reality to promote industry-leading mental health outcomes. Occupational Therapists within our Complex Auto program assess and treat clients presenting with various physical (musculoskeletal, orthopaedic), cognitive (TBIs, concussions) and psychosocial impairments related to motor vehicle accidents. Working in a community setting, you will have the opportunity to complete in-home and hospital discharge assessments, ergonomic assessments, concussion treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, mental health treatment and several other interventions. This program allows you to provide ‘start to finish care’ and guide your clients through every step of their recovery!

Many of our OTs focus on one area of practice, while others prefer the variety offered by a mixed caseload.

Wage range:$42.00–$54.00 per hour

What you need to be successful

• Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
• A valid driver’s licence and have access to a reliable vehicle (travel up to 1-1.5 hours radius)
• Willingness to provide in-vivo OT treatment in a variety of settings, including client’s homes, workplaces, and/or in the community
• Passion about your profession, commitment to ongoing professional development, and dedication to providing excelled client care
• The ability to thrive in a self-directed and independent environment,
