Job summary

AECO in Kitchener, ON is seeking a Community Infrastructure/Municipal Graduate in Water to support the delivery of municipal water, wastewater and stormwater projects. You will assist design and documentation, liaise with clients, and contribute to project delivery in a multi-disciplinary team.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, working towards P.Eng, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation. Hybrid work model with field and office duties in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Working towards a P.Eng designation in Ontario is preferred.
  • Experience with civil infrastructure design in water, wastewater or stormwater projects is desirable.

  • Support projects including sewer and watermain design/replacement/reconstruction.
  • Assist roadways/intersection improvements and site servicing design.
  • Support potable water pumping, transmission, storage, and distribution.
  • Assist sanitary drainage and pumping.
  • Client liaison and relationship management.
  • Prepare documentation for current/prospective projects (reports, proposals, specs).
  • Perform contract administration duties and site meetings.

AECOM is seeking a Community Infrastructure/Municipal Graduate for immediate employment in a new position in the Kitchener, ON office. The successful candidate will be expected to support the delivery of infrastructure to customers primarily within the municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater sectors.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Support projects including:
    • Sewer and watermain design/replacement /reconstruction.
    • Roadway and intersection improvements.
    • Site servicing design.
    • Potable water pumping, transmission, storage, and distribution systems.
    • Sanitary drainage and pumping.
  • Client liaison and relationship management.
  • Prepare documentation related to current or prospective projects, including correspondence, reports, proposals, expressions of interest, and specifications.
  • Perform Contract Administration duties, including contractor interaction, progress payment certificates, and convene progress site meetings.
  • Communicate and work with other project team members in Kitchener and other regional offices to provide quality service to clients on projects of varying scope and complexity.
  • Liaise with and assist other departments and offices in the provision of design services to other clients, as applicable.
  • Perform financial and budget control duties on projects.
  • Respond to contractor and public inquiries.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or other related field or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working towards a P. Eng. designation in Ontario.
  • Design experiencein surface grading, water and sewer pipe networks, and detail design.
  • Experience in Stormwater Management procedures and design.
  • Experience in transportation design/reconstruction projects.
  • Experience in land use planning and land development or site plan preparation and studies.
  • Experience with the design of trenchless methods for the installation of small and large-diameter watermains and sewers.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
  • Familiarity with software for modelling water transmission/distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Certification such as PMP or related are desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.Ability to work in field or office conditions.
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
