A community service organization in Kingston, Ontario is seeking volunteers to engage with individuals who have an intellectual disability. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact by providing companionship and support through activities such as outings to movies, sports events, or simple meetups for coffee. Volunteers should be willing to undergo a background check and maintain a flexible schedule. This is an ongoing opportunity in a rewarding volunteer capacity.
A befriending program between volunteers and individuals who have an intellectual disability.
Volunteers are matched with individuals who have an intellectual disability. Matches are based on mutual availability, preferences, interests and compatibility. Examples include going to movies/theater, bowling, watching local sporting events, shopping, joining a club or group together, or just meeting up for coffee and conversation.
We will match your unique talents, availability, preferences and personality with an individual to help him/her fulfill their goals, grow skills and increase community participation. Volunteers act as mentors, companions, teachers and coaches.
