Positon: Community Engagement Specialist (Lead Generation)

Location: Gastown, Vancouver. Remote Work possible.

Overview:

We are looking for a community engagement specialist to help grow our charity and farmer networks for the Retail Food Recovery Program, a program designed to help grocery stores safely divert 100% of their unsold perishables to a network of local recovery organizations.

Responsibilities:

The role will encompass, but will not be limited to, the following scope of work:

  • Lead Generation:

Identify food charities, food share networks, and farmer prospects in key strategic regions;

Communicate the retail program to charity/farmer prospects, and collect information on their needs / capacities to assist with the onboarding and matching process;

Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.

Maintain a professional rapport with clients and represent company standards at all times.

Understand and target specific markets with proven strategies, spearhead focused campaigns and communicate with professional associates.

  • Charity / Farmer On-Boarding:

Qualify and onboard charity partners, leads and farmers and match them to participating stores.

Coordinate with multiple organizations to develop food share arrangements in key regions.

  • Data Management:

Manage data for new and prospective clients within CRM, (SalesForce) ensuring all communications are logged, information is accurate, and documents are attached.

Prepare and analyze sales pipeline reports and dashboards.

Required Skills and Capabilities:

  • Passionate about food security, social impact ventures, and reducing food waste;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in consultative customer or client facing roles (sales, customer service, inside sales customer success, solutions, etc.) and/or marketing experience.
  • Knowledge/experience of working with food charities/networks is an asset.
  • Ability to maintain sales leads, opportunities and revenue pipeline effectively.
  • Excellent communicator that can adapt to a variety of users;
  • Familiarity with Google Suite of tools, Salesforce. Willingness to learn new digital tools;
  • Solutions oriented, open minded and creative problem solver;
  • Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
