Job summary

Catholic Social Services in Central Alberta is seeking caring Community Disability Workers to support adults with developmental disabilities in Stettler, Tofield, and Bashaw. Positions available casual, part-time and full-time with shift work, including weekends.

You will assist with daily living activities, social events, and recreation, aiming to promote dignity, independence and empowerment. A valid driver’s license, a vehicle, and ability to travel between communities are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 education; a Diploma/Degree in Disability Services is an asset.
  • Minimum 6 months experience with persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of community events is an asset.
  • First Aid Level C may be required prior to first day.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or city police.
  • Clear and Current Drivers Abstract.
  • A vehicle and valid Class 5 driver's license to transport clients.
  • Proof of Vehicle Insurance showing $2 million liability coverage.
  • Proof of Vehicle Registration for insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for casual, part-time, full-time Community Disability Workers in Stettler, Tofield, and Bashaw!

Job Summary:

As a Community Disability Worker, you will provide high quality supports to adults with developmental disabilities who live in the community.

Motivated, compassionate and organized, you enthusiastically assist with daily living activities and social events supporting dignity, independence and empowerment. You will be skilled in providing personal care, supporting persons with developmental disabilities,supporting mental health challengesand implementing programs tailored to individual needs. The successful candidate will be creative, energetic, and possess a calm personality to work with individuals with complex needs. You will be willing to engage in various community activities with a focus on recreation.

Please note, as our programs operate 24 hours per day, shift work is required and will include weekends.

What This Job Requires
  • Minimum Grade 12 education. A Diploma/Degree in Disability Services, Social Work or Human Services (or equivalent) is considered an asset
  • Minimum 6 months experience working with persons with developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of community events considered an asset
  • Valid Standard First Aid Level C may be required prior to first day
  • Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or city police detachment
  • Clear and Current Drivers Abstract
