Job description
Job Summary

The successful candidates primary responsibilities will be to see a variety of general neurology consultations in a community-based practice the Central Zone (Halifax area) of Nova Scotia Health. They will also have a defined clinic within the QEII Health Sciences Centre; an interest in Multiple Sclerosis and related disorders is preferred but not essential.

Additional Clinical Responsibilities

Additional clinical responsibilities will include participation in night and weekend emergency neurology call (including acute stroke management) approximately twice per month with a resident physician. The successful candidate will also participate in the Dalhousie University undergraduate and postgraduate neurology teaching curriculum.

Research Opportunities

Though primarily a clinical position there are opportunities for self‑generated research projects, clinical trials and other multidisciplinary research studies.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must hold FRCPC (or equivalent) certification in Neurology.
  • Candidates must be eligible for specialty licensure in Nova Scotia.

Employment Requirements

Remuneration

This 1.0 FTE position will be funded through a combination of Fee‑for‑Service (FFS) and Academic Funding Plan (AFP) arrangements with 0.8 FTE supported by FFS and 0.2 FTE supported by AFP. Academic appointment ranking will be based on qualifications and experience.
