The College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) is the largest profession‑led regulatory body in Saskatchewan, representing nearly 15,000 registered nurses and nurse practitioners. Established in 1917, CRNS is accountable for protecting the public by ensuring high standards of nursing education, practice, and registration. It sets rigorous licensure requirements, practice standards, approves nursing programs, and enforces a strict discipline process.

The College seeks a full‑time permanent Manager, Communications and Public Relations to support the execution of the CRNS communications and public engagement strategy. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services and Communications, the Manager will coordinate and enhance internal and external communications, build new partnership pathways, and maintain a positive public image through media outreach, social media, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Day‑to‑day operations of the communications and public relations team.
  • Support and enhance the CRNS social media presence.
  • Create, copy‑edit, proofread, and review internal and external communications.
  • Develop, create, and maintain communications strategies, plans, and vehicles.
  • Lead all public engagement activities for the organization.
  • Provide staff support for committees.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in communications.
  • 3+ years of experience managing, building, mentoring, and coaching a team of communications specialists.
  • 5+ years of experience in planning, writing, editing, and producing newsletters, press releases, annual reports, marketing literature, and other print publications.
  • Experience in media relations and government relations.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating complex communication strategies, including recent work related to social media.
  • Excellent knowledge of communication tools and products such as brand methodology, media relations, social media, advertising, print, and graphic design.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, changing environment and anticipate future needs.
  • Innovative thinker with a track record of translating strategic thinking into actionable plans and outputs.
  • Excellent judgment and problem‑solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
