Job summary

A Canadian Indigenous organization based in Ottawa is hiring a Communications Coordinator to support daily communications activities, content development, and event planning. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience, a background in communication or political studies, and familiarity with Inuit governance. This full-time office position offers excellent benefits including employer-paid insurance, RRSP contributions, relocation allowance, and paid vacation. Candidates under a Land Claims Agreement will be given priority.

Qualifications

  • Must have two years of experience working with an Inuit or Indigenous organization.
  • Must have two years of experience in a political or advocacy organization.
  • Willingness to learn about Inuit culture respectfully.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily communications activities and content development.
  • Manage event planning and logistics.
  • Create social media and web content.
  • Support communications product development.

Skills

Familiarity with Inuit regions, history, and governance
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience in writing and content creation
Basic photography skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education

Degree in Political Science, Communications, or similar
