A prominent workers' advocacy organization in Halifax seeks a Communications Coordinator. The role involves preparing communications materials, managing media relations, and updating online content. HOURS OF WORK: Approximately 35 hours per week (Full-time, permanent position)
REMUNERATION: Starting Rate $46.25 Competitive salary, RRSP and benefits in accordance with the Collective Agreement
The Nova Scotia Federation of Labour is the central provincial voice for Nova Scotia workers. The Federation represents thousands of union members, lobbying the provincial government for justice and fairness for workers across the province.
This position is based in the Halifax Regional Municipality and is a front-facing position, reporting directly to the President. The successful candidate has excellent writing skills and can deliver communications products such as speeches, press releases, website content, and written submissions to the provincial government. The successful candidate will work with the elected officers of the Federation to ensure the implementation of campaign work and the implementation of the strategic plan. This is a unionized position, with all salary and benefits outlined in the Collective Agreement.
