Job summary

CGL seeks a Communications Consultant to lead end-to-end strategic communications planning and programs. You will oversee projects, apply planning, implementation, measurement and writing skills to deliver on time and budget.

This role involves consulting with internal partners, developing messaging, and guiding executives through change while aligning communications with overall strategy.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Communications required.
  • 5-7 years of business experience providing communication consultation, planning expertise and project management.
  • Proven experience in communication planning and execution with measurements.
  • Experience leading production of magazines.
  • Strong writing, editing and research skills with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Create strategic communication plans for large cross-company and multi-phased projects.
  • Consult with internal clients to define objectives and scope.
  • Develop creative recommendations and strategic solutions for internal communications programs.
  • Lead execution of plan elements, including measurement, on time and on budget.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to leaders during organizational changes.

The Communication Consultant is responsible for leading the end-to-end development of strategic communications plans and programs. In overseeing these projects, the Communication Consultant applies highly developed communication planning, project management, implementation, measurement and writing skills.

How you will create impact:
  • Create strategic communication plans, including large-scale, cross-company, multi-functional and multi-phased projects and initiatives. As required, work with business partners to guide and coordinate supporting communication activities (i.e., Creative Services and Translation).
  • Consult with internal clients to determine their objectives and establish the scope of their requirements.
  • Develop creative recommendations and strategic solutions for communication programs targeted to internal audiences.
  • Lead the execution of all plan elements, including measurement, ensuring programs and projects are successfully delivered on time and on budget.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to leaders in the organization, including the development of key messages and positioning through organizational changes, to help them achieve their business objectives.
  • Work with management and as part of a team, to align corporate communication activities with strategy across the company.
  • Write and edit content for a wide range of communication initiatives and mediums.
  • Monitor and apply communication best practices and current/emerging trends.
To join our team:
  • University degree in Communications
  • At least 5-7 years of business experience providing communication consultation, planning expertise and project management skills, to a variety of corporate projects and initiatives.
  • Proven experience in communication planning and execution with demonstrated results in coordinating and leading all aspects of complex communication programs, including measurement.
  • Experience leading the production of magazines.
  • Highly skilled writing (for a variety of print and online mediums), editing and research skills; the ability to perform these tasks quickly and to deadline.

Expected salary range $72,847.00 to $121,411.00

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
