Role Summary

Export Packers is offering a unique opportunity to jumpstart your career in sales and commodity trading through our NextGen Trading Program. This two-year, full-time program is designed to develop the next generation of Traders through immersive, hands‑on learning in a fast-paced, international business environment.

What You'll Do
Foundational Learning Logistics & Supply Chain
  • Begin in our logistics department to understand how goods move domestically and internationally
  • Gain firsthand experience in transportation, warehousing, documentation, and global trade compliance
  • Build core knowledge to support future trading decisions
Progressive Exposure to Trading
  • Learn how to analyze market trends, negotiate deals, and manage risk
  • Support traders in daily activities, pricing, supplier / customer communication, and order entry
  • Engage in increasingly complex sales tasks as you progress through the program
  • Shadow experienced commodity traders and receive regular mentorship
Customer & Supplier Development
  • Start by interacting with front-line operational contacts and progress to senior stakeholders
  • Learn how to build long-term relationships in a highly competitive environment
  • Understand the full lifecycle of a trading deal from prospecting to close
Skills & Competencies You'll Build
  • Relationship‑building, negotiation, problem-solving, and business strategy
  • Adaptability, situational awareness, confidence, and stress management
  • Commercial decision-making and data‑driven analysis
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
  • Previous experience in sales, procurement, customs documentation / compliance roles is preferred
  • Education in International Business, Commerce, etc. is an asset
  • Curious, driven, and entrepreneurial personality
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Resilient, adaptable, and confident in fast‑moving situations
  • Excited to learn by doing and receive feedback from industry veterans

This position is based in a professional office setting, with work primarily performed at a desk using a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment.
