As an Industrial Commissioning Automation Lead, your role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless commissioning and start-up of complex industrial facilities, with a primary focus on automation and control systems. Reporting to the commissioning lead, your responsibilities encompass leading the automation commissioning team, overseeing various aspects including cause and effect engineering verifications, Control Narrative verifications, client interface management, PLC/DCS programming changes, HMI graphic reviews, alarm summary reviews, serial interface verifications and engineering management, IP address allocations, and mapping assignments. Your multidisciplinary expertise is essential in achieving optimal automation system performance and ensuring client satisfaction.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the project leads and stakeholders to align automation commissioning strategies with project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints; Develop comprehensive commissioning plans and strategies for automation and control systems, encompassing serial interfaces, IP address allocations, and mapping assignments; Meet alignment of automation activities with overall project goals; Ensure automation support and vendor specific automation man power is scheduled and managed during the commissioning life cycle.
Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the automation commissioning team, including programmers and control engineers; Efficiently allocate resources, tasks, and responsibilities to optimize automation commissioning activities; Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, quality, and accountability within the automation teams.
Cause and Effect Engineering Verifications: Oversee and verify the cause and effect engineering for automation and control systems; Ensure that automation systems respond correctly to various conditions and sequences; Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve discrepancies or issues in the cause and effect logic.
Control Narrative Verifications: Verify that control narratives accurately reflect the intended operation of the automation systems; Review and validate the control logic against control narratives; Coordinate with the engineering team to maintain alignment between control narratives and control strategies.
Client Interface Management: Manage client interface for programming-related activities, including serial interface requirements and IP address allocations; Ensure that client expectations regarding serial interfaces and IP address assignments are met or exceeded; Collaborate closely with clients and project stakeholders to address inquiries or concerns related to the project automation.
PLC/DCS Programming Changes and Maintenance: Lead programming changes for PLC/DCS systems to address functional requirements, optimizations; Oversee maintenance and modification of control software, ensuring system reliability and efficiency; Coordinate programming changes with the engineering team, control systems vendors, and IP address allocations.
HMI Graphic Reviews: Review and validate HMI graphics for clarity, functionality, and alignment with operational requirements; Provide feedback to clients on HMI graphics and collaborate to implement improvements; Ensure that HMI graphics enhance operator efficiency and situational awareness.
Alarm Summary Reviews: Review and validate alarm summaries and events; Ensure that alarm systems are configured effectively to prioritize critical alerts; Collaborate with the engineering team to address alarm-related issues or discrepancies.
Serial Interface Verifications and Engineering Management: Oversee the verification and testing of serial interfaces to ensure proper data exchange and communication; Manage the engineering aspects of serial interfaces, addressing hardware and software requirements; Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure serial interface compliance and functionality.
IP Address Allocations and Mapping Assignments: Manage the allocation of IP addresses for automation and control systems; Maintain an organized mapping of IP addresses to devices and systems, ensuring proper communication; Coordinate IP address assignments with the IT team and vendors, addressing any conflicts or requirements.
