About the Role
As a CBRE Commercial Refrigeration Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining commercial refrigeration, HVAC and electrical equipment at multiple facilities.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do
- Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment, commercial refrigeration systems, calibrate instruments, gauges, and control components.
- Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
- Troubleshoot difficult equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
- Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
- Impact the quality of own work.
- Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
- Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repairs records as required.
- Review assigned work orders; estimate time and materials needed to complete repair; order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks and maintain good inventory of parts in service vehicle; utilize CMMS to manage work orders and track completion.
- Responsible for the preventative maintenance and corrective repairs of HVAC equipment, air handling units (AHUs), dehumidification units, heating, and cooling system (boiler, chiller, and cooling tower) and commercial refrigeration equipment or rack refrigeration system including refrigerated cooler and freezer, walk in coolers and freezers and self-contained refrigerated units.
- Oversee and inspect the work performed by third party vendors.
What You’ll Need
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic – the individual must possess a Journeyman Certificate or Individuals holding a recognized trade credential from another Canadian province or territory (313A or Red Deal Endorsements) with 4‑5 years related experience.
- CO2 commercial refrigeration system experience preferred.
- Gas Technician (G1), Gasfitter A (Class A)
- ODP Certificate – Ozone Depletion Certificate.
- Valid driver's license and completion of an apprenticeship required.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
- Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
Compensation & Benefits
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary range being offered for the Commercial Refrigeration Technician is between $80,000 annually and $90,000 annually. The compensation that is provided to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
