Job Description

Muddy Stilettos Surrey is looking to recruit an energetic and ambitious Commercial Manager.

Muddy Stilettos is the UK’s No.1 lifestyle digital site for cosmopolitan, fun-loving women 25–55 years looking to make the most of where they live. Launched in 2012, we’re an award‑winning platform with 4.4 million reach per month spanning both a site and 35 individual counties with an urbane outlook and irreverent, up‑beat attitude.

As the Commercial Manager for the Surrey edition, your role will be sales‑based – selling in digital advertising packages to local businesses and brands in Surrey while developing and nurturing relationships and increasing regional revenue.

You’ll work closely with the editor to develop content, plus you’ll be good at writing and presenting creative proposals to clients.

Working Relationships

You will have a close working relationship with the Surrey Editor and the Surrey School Sales Manager, and will also liaise with regional sales managers across Muddy's 30 UK editions.

Specific Tasks
  • The role is predominantly sales based – selling in digital advertising packages to clients.
  • Grow revenue within your county across a range of digital media products and hit quarterly sales targets.
  • Work with the Surrey editor to pinpoint the best businesses and support credible editorial.
  • Build and nurture our commercial relationships on social media.
  • Liaise with the Surrey editor to account manage existing clients.
  • Grow the Muddy client/business database.

Experience and Skills
  • A background in sales – ideally media sales
  • An understanding of how PRs, magazines, sponsorship and advertising works
  • A good grasp of how the main social networks work
  • An innate understanding of the Muddy Stilettos reader and what makes the site unique
Remuneration and Benefits
  • The role is on a freelance basis paying an hourly rate (£16) plus commission on sales.
  • 10 hours per week (more possible, depending on performance)
