Job summary

Project Start Recruitment Solutions Limited is assisting a well-established nationwide leader in Construction and Facilities Management to find an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer for their Elgin-based team, working across Public Sector and Commercial Office contracts.

The role covers servicing and maintaining commercial heating systems, installing and diagnosing heating and hot water systems, and participating in on-call rota with a focus on safety and accurate reporting.

• Solid understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Professional and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain commercial heating systems and boilers.
• Install, diagnose, and repair heating and domestic hot/cold water systems.
• Install heating plant, domestic water plant, and water heaters.
• Carry out pipework installation for water, gas, air and related systems.
• Operate press-fit tools.
• Complete reactive repairs and planned preventive maintenance.
• Work collaboratively with other trades on-site.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building standards.
• Complete job reports and associated documentation accurately.
• Prepare material lists and support apprentices when required.
• Participate in the on-call rota to provide emergency support.
• Undertake additional duties in line with business requirements.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing
• Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications: COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, ICPN1A
• Unvented Hot Water Storage certification
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Professional and customer-focused approach
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
