Our client, a boutique Calgary brokerage, is seeking aCommercial Account Executiveto manage and grow a portfolio of small- to mid-market commercial accounts. The Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of a well-maintained, mixed commercial book, providing exceptional service to existing clients while identifying opportunities to grow the portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to a brokerage culture that values quality and integrity over rigid sales targets.

Administrative support is available to help streamline processes, allowing you to focus on client relationships and new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow a portfolio of small- to mid-market commercial accounts.

Respond to client inquiries, process endorsements, and handle renewals with accuracy and professionalism.

Provide expert advice on coverage options and risk management solutions.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory or book.

Collaborate with underwriters, internal team members, and insurer partners to deliver exceptional service.

Mentor and support junior team members as needed.

Maintain consistent, client-focused communication and follow-up to ensure high retention and satisfaction.

What You Bring

Level 2 General Insurance License (Alberta) required.

5–10+ years of commercial insurance experience.

CAIB, CIP, or FCIP designation (or in progress) preferred.

Experience with commercial insurance systems such as EPIC or equivalent.

Strong understanding of key commercial markets and wordings.

A client-first mindset with the ability to balance service and business development.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
