Overview
Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a Combustion Technician at our new location in Dieppe NB. The successful candidate will maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair various heating systems within a varied portfolio to achieve optimum life span of the equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain gas / oil fired equipment in accordance with manufacturer and company specifications. Some ventilation equipment service and maintenance.
- Complete digital work orders, detailed reports and daily digital time summaries.
- Ensure safe working conditions are enforced and strictly adhered to in accordance to company policy.

Experience / Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in an HVAC / R service and maintenance position.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
- Must possess G1 Certification (liquid endorsement would be an asset). OBT oil system heating technician optional but would be preferred.
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certification would be an asset.
- Knowledge of circulating pumps service and maintenance.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Secret Security Clearance, as well as other site specific clearances.
- Experience using mobile technologies would be an asset.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read and work from HVAC, mechanical schematics, electrical schematics, line drawings, etc.
- Knowledge in a variety of electronic, pneumatic, and DDC control systems an asset.
- Strong mechanical ability and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and the ability to meet deadlines.
