Qualifications

• Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).
• Active or eligible for registration with the ACCLXT.
• MRT/CLXT technologist with strong radiation safety and technical skills in general radiology and portables.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures in the laboratory and diagnostic imaging.
• Collect and analyze biological specimens and report results.
• Conduct X-ray examinations and ECGs; prepare patients; venipuncture.

This Combined Lab/X-Ray Tech I (CXLT I / MRT I) position performs quality general radiology and portable examinations in the busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department at the Cardston Health Centre. Close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, supervisor and management is required.Located in Cardston the Health Centre is an acute care facility that services a large area of southwestern Alberta. Description:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:

MRT/CLXT technologist with strong radiation safety and technical skills in general radiology and portables required. Demonstrated positive attitude and good work ethic. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication and computer skills. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations required. Demonstrated interest in professional growth and continued education. Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, students, AHS staff and physicians.
