A healthcare provider in Alberta seeks a Laboratory Technologist to join their High Prairie team. The role includes performing procedures in both laboratory and diagnostic imaging, collecting specimens, and conducting X-ray examinations. Candidates must have a diploma in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology and be registered or eligible for registration with the Alberta College. This position offers flexible hours with a competitive pay rate ranging from $35.45 to $46.69 per hour.
We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technologist- CLXT or MLT to join our High Prairie team. This role is initially offered at 0.7 FTE with the opportunity to pick up additional hours, up to full-time, based on operational needs and your availability. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non‑pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Combined Laboratory and X‑Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter‑professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X‑ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X‑Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X‑ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Phlebotomy and ECG knowledge. Experience with Vitros XT, Sysmex XN, Triage Meter, iSTAT & ACL Elite Pro.
