Overview

Your Opportunity: Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) is seeking a skilled and versatile Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist to join our collaborative team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a modern, full-service regional hospital where you’ll contribute to diagnostic imaging. As a Combined Technologist, you’ll perform general radiographic procedures, supporting a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Responsibilities

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Qualifications
  • Required: Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).
  • Required: Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a rural or regional hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with Connect Care or other electronic health record systems.
