Position Summary

The Collections Analyst is responsible for managing a dedicated list of commercial customers within the collections team. Working closely with colleagues sales and internal departments this role ensures timely payment of assigned accounts resolves billing issues and supports overall team efforts to minimize delinquency while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manage a dedicated portfolio of customer accounts prioritizing collection activities in coordination with the team.
  • Contact assigned customers to follow up on overdue invoices negotiate payment terms and resolve disputes.
  • Apply and reconcile payments accurately across assigned accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with billing sales and customer service teams.
  • Escalate high-risk accounts to management with recommendations for action.
  • Maintain accurate records of collection activities and outcomes for assigned customers.
  • Contribute to team reporting on aging performance and collection results.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies industry regulations and applicable laws.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in collections customer service account management or other customer-facing roles.
  • Proven ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Strong communication negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing a dedicated list of accounts and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook Word); experience with billing systems is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting customer interactions and outcomes.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
