Job summary

Ellos HR Solutions is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist / Buyer for a Cambridge manufacturing site. The role focuses on sourcing cold rolled steel from Canadian and U.S.

suppliers, negotiating terms, and aligning with Operations and Engineering to ensure continuous supply for manufacturing. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in procurement, strong steel purchasing knowledge, ERP and Excel proficiency, and is capable of managing supplier relationships and cost improvements.

Qualifications

• Must have direct experience purchasing cold rolled steel from Canada/US suppliers.
• 3+ years purchasing/procurement experience.
• Strong steel purchasing knowledge, supplier negotiations, pricing, lead times.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience purchasing MRO and tooling is valuable but steel background is priority.
• ERP and Excel skills are required; Plex experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase cold rolled steel from Canadian and U.S. suppliers.
• Negotiate steel pricing, commercial terms, payment conditions, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Manage supplier relationships and seek cost reductions and better terms.
• Monitor steel requirements, purchase orders, releases and incoming material.
• Assist purchasing of MRO materials, tooling and other manufacturing needs.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to understand material priorities.
• Manage purchasing through the ERP system; Plex experience is an asset.
• Support supplier development, long-term agreements and cost improvement initiatives.
