Job summary

Safeway in Selkirk, Manitoba is seeking a Coffee Bar Operator to deliver warm, personalized service at our on-site Starbucks café. You’ll prepare hot and cold beverages, greet customers, and help maintain a clean, organized department while following Safeway’s standards.

You’ll supervise by example, assist with merchandising, stock management and cash handling, contributing to a friendly, fast-paced environment. Evening and weekend availability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with Safeway procedures, standards and policies
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Delivers superior customer service per Safeway/Starbucks programs
• Oversees merchandising, pricing, display and inventory control for the Department
• Maintains presentable department, ensuring cleanliness and profitability
• Supervises staff through scheduling, training and task delegation
• Handles paperwork as required by the Division
• Processes cash, cheque, credit card, gift card and debit transactions
• Prepares hot and cold beverages, including specialty drinks
• Stocks products and places orders as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned by management

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
• Oversees implementation of Safeway's and Starbucks' merchandising programs Responsible for pricing, displaying, ordering and inventory control within the Department
• Responsible for the overall presentation, cleanliness and profitability of the Department, while providing excellence in superior customer service
• Supervise Department staff to include scheduling, training and assigning duties
• Ensure paperwork, as set by the Division is followed
• Process cash register payments by cash, cheque, credit card, gift card and debit
• Prepare hot and cold beverages, including specialty drink preparation
• Stocking and ordering product
• Perform all other related duties, as assigned by management.

What you bring to the table:

• Previous Starbucks / Tim Hortons or Management experience preferred
