Job summary

A mid-sized Canadian General Contractor is seeking a Civil Project Coordinator Co-op in Metro Vancouver to provide hands-on experience in civil construction. The role includes project tracking, cost management, and client relationship development. Ideal candidates are enrolled in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and have some experience in the field. Opportunities for future employment are available post-graduation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Production tracking and preparation of field reports.
  • Complete change order preparations.
  • Maintain project files and records.
  • Attend site meetings and record minutes.
  • Process charts, graphs, drawings and proposals.
  • Assist with drawings, estimating, scheduling, and surveying.
  • Perform inventory checks and cost analyses.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships.

Job description

Civil Project Coordinator Co-ops with Jacob Bros provide hands on experience and training required to become a Project coordinator or manager in the civil construction industry.

You'll be assigned to work on a project site in thecivil construction discipline, including roads and highways, infrastructure, excavation, underground utilities projects, and more. Typical responsibilities include production tracking, scheduling, cost report management, change order preparation, inventory management, estimation and surveying.

To qualify for this position, you must be currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, and returning to studies after the Co-op.

Responsibilities:
  • Production tracking and preparation of field reports
  • Complete change order preparations
  • Maintainproject files and records
  • Attend site meetings and record minutes
  • Process charts, graphs, drawings and proposals
  • Assist with drawings, estimating, scheduling, and surveying
  • Perform inventory checks and cost analyses
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Additional responsibilities as directed
Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Work experience and/or co-op experience with a General Contractor strongly preferred
  • Some experience with project control software applications, including AutoCAD, MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada
