Co‑op Program Advisor (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Reports to: Co‑Op Program Director

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia

Contract Term: November 7, 2025 to February 27, 2026

Role Overview: The Co‑op Program Advisor will provide advising guidance and workshops to students enrolled in programs at Greystone College Vancouver (part of ILSC Education Group). The advisor will serve as a key link between program success and students’ co‑op placement experience, fostering a positive, proactive, and enjoyable office atmosphere that supports student and staff growth.

Job Duties
  • Provide one‑on‑one assistance and guidance to daytime and evening students before, during, and after their co‑op term to ensure successful completion of the work‑experience portion of the program required for graduation, including resume preparation, interview practice, job‑search advice, and facilitation of orientation sessions and workshops.
  • Monitor students’ co‑op placement progress, evaluating their success and professional growth through reporting procedures, one‑on‑one meetings, site visits, and communication with employers.
  • Resolve student or employer grievances related to work performance or conditions in accordance with program policies and practices.
  • Support students in understanding Canadian workplace culture and expectations.
  • Communicate employment, education, immigration, or regulatory changes that affect students or the college.
  • Maintain current student database and produce sessional or statistical reports for management review and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the team to clearly communicate program policies to students and stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the positive development of team knowledge, skills, and training; participate in ongoing development of the co‑op program.
  • Assist in organizing bi‑annual career fairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required
  • University bachelor’s degree or college diploma with at least 2 years of experience in education administration or human resources.
  • Ability to work in a high‑demands environment with changing priorities, tight deadlines, and multi‑tasking, and to adapt to changes in regulations and systems.
  • Professionalism, strong work ethic, and high level of tact required.
  • Experience in career advising or student support is a strong asset.
  • Understanding of current labor‑market trends, workplace practices, job‑hunting strategies, and workplace culture.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to facilitate group meetings and workshops.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
