Job summary

MNP is seeking a Co-op Accountant for January to April 2027 in Canada. You’ll support personal and corporate tax returns, assist with audits and bookkeeping, and help set up client files and budgets. The role offers exposure to a full range of accounting activities within a leading national firm.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an accounting degree and have 0–2 years of experience, with an eye for detail and client service excellence. Ontario-based location supported by a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an accounting certificate or bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration.
• Entry level to 2 years of relevant accounting experience is acceptable.
• Knowledge of personal and corporate tax (T4s/T5s) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete personal and corporate tax returns and respond to CRA information requests.
• Assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Prepare government remittances/filings, accounts receivable/payable, payroll transactions.
• Set up client files and assist with budgets and administrative planning.
• Reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, intercompany and POS uploads.
• Identify issues, investigate discrepancies and discuss resolutions with managers/partners.
• Communicate with government regarding information requests, assessments and installments.
• Collaborate with the client engagement team.

Responsibilities

• Completion of personal and corporate tax returns and responding to related CRA requests for information
• Assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements
• Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions
• Set up client files, assist with the completion of budgets and complete administrative planning
• Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions
• Communicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments and installments
• Work collaboratively with the client engagement team

Skills and Experience

• Working towards an accounting certificate or bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration
• Entry level to 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience preparing T4s and T5s and knowledge of personal and corporate tax is preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes is considered an asset
• Previous accounting related office experience is considered an asset
• Customer service and/or client service experience is considered an asset
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset

The hourly rate range for this position is: $20-$23/hour
