Job summary

MNP, a leading Canadian accounting and advisory firm, is offering a Co-op Accountant position from January to April 2027. You’ll support personal and corporate tax work, assist with audits and bookkeeping, and help manage budgets and client files as part of a dynamic Assurance & Accounting team.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with tax software and accounting processes while collaborating with engagement teams and senior staff to deliver tailored financial information for informed client

Qualifications

• Pursuing accounting certificate or bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration.
• 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with T4s and T5s; knowledge of personal and corporate tax preferred.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes is an asset.
• Previous accounting-related office experience is an asset.
• Customer service/client service experience is an asset.
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Complete personal and corporate tax returns and respond to CRA requests.
• Assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable/payable and payroll transactions.
• Set up client files and assist with budgets and administrative planning.
• Maintain and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations and intercompany.
• Identify issues, investigate discrepancies and discuss resolutions with managers/partners.
• Communicate with government regarding information requests, assessments and installments.
• Work collaboratively with the client engagement team.

Responsibilities

• Completion of personal and corporate tax returns and responding to related CRA requests for information
• Assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements
• Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions
• Set up client files, assist with the completion of budgets and complete administrative planning
• Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions
• Communicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments and installments
• Work collaboratively with the client engagement team

Skills And Experience

• Working towards an accounting certificate or bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration
• Entry level to 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience preparing T4s and T5s and knowledge of personal and corporate tax is preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes is considered an asset
• Previous accounting related office experience is considered an asset
• Customer service and/or client service experience is considered an asset
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset

The hourly rate range for this position is: $20-$23/hour
