Co-Director of Care / Staff Educator

Leacock Care Centre, 25 Museum Drive, Orillia, Ontario. Full Time.

Under the direction of the Administrator, the Co-Director of Resident Care (RPN) is responsible for ensuring provision of optimum care to promote well-being of each individual resident, delivering nursing services to meet assessed needs and managing Home wide programs.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing services to meet assessed needs of residents.
  • Manage and coordinate Home wide programs such as Skin care, Behaviour Management, Infection Control, Back Care, CQI/ Risk Management, Palliative Care, Quality of Life, Health and Safety.
  • Ensure nursing staff perform assigned tasks and duties.
  • Assess, implement, evaluate, report and document actions to affect positive outcomes related to residents’ health.
  • Ensure accurate completion of resident records reflecting health status and care provided complying with legislative and Home requirements.
  • Participate in orientation process for residents, students, volunteers and nursing personnel.
Qualifications
  • Registered with current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (O. Reg. 246/22, s. 51).
  • Successful completion of or enrollment in Long Term Care Senior Management or equivalent.
  • 2 years experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology) preferred.
  • Demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education.
  • Computer literate.
