Qualifications

CNC Woodworking Machine Supervisor (NOC 92022)

Responsibilities
CNC Programming
  • Commission on Hundegger Robot Drive
  • Establish required tooling for machining operations
  • Develop 3D transfer from CAD (HSB) to Cambium
  • Develop processes and standard operating procedures for efficient storage of CAM files and job orders
  • Train and supervise other CNC operators for multiple shift operation
  • Create machining schedules and conduct bottlenecking analysis to optimize use of CNC up‑time
  • Use Cambium to create overall production scheduling both up- and down-stream of CNC machine
  • Liaise with Hundegger for troubleshooting and general development
  • Develop 6‑axis capabilities with the Robot Drive for machining free‑form elements, including running other CAM software and developing technique to allow this CAM software to speak to the Robot Drive
Design Office
  • Work with 3D teams to establish efficient processes for creating CAM/DfMA friendly detailing and connection typologies
  • Create schedules for release of 3D files for fabrication
  • Develop “Fabrication Package” requirements for release of information from the design office
  • Develop algorithms / macros for automatic detailing according to CNC requirements
Job Requirements
  • Must have 5 years’ experience with CNC woodworking machine operation, including minimum 3 years’ experience operating a Hundegger Robot Drive workstation in a mass timber environment.
  • Must have more than 2 years’ experience in CNC programming of a Hundegger Robot Drive
  • Completion of two‑year diploma in carpentry/joinery is an asset
  • A safety‑minded team player
  • Reliable, punctual, responsible and dependable
  • Pleasant with others on the job and display a good‑natured, cooperative attitude
  • English language is required
Terms of Employment
  • 40 hours per week
  • Based at 1929 Foy Street, Abbotsford, BC, V2T 6B1
  • Salary range: $34‑$40/hour, depending on experience
  • Benefits include overtime in accordance with BC ESA, 10 days of vacation time per year, extended health, life insurance, disability insurance and matching RRSP after two years.

The pay range for this role is:

34‑40 CAD per hour (Abbotsford Head Office)
