Job description
Overview

Join Our Team as an CNC Setter Operator at Johnson Electric! Location: Stratford, Ontario, Canada (onsite). Schedule: Full-time.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Ensure machines are set up to machine the required parts
  • Install and remove spindle chucks, collets, drawbars, spindle adaptors and cutting tools as necessary
  • Index cutting inserts and make size change adjustments to machines as required
  • Load and unload parts on machines to maintain required production levels
  • Chart SPC data as determined by process sheet specifications
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met
  • Other duties as required
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Computer Numerical Control Machining Program Certificate in progress
Qualifications
  • Must have working knowledge of machining principles and practices
  • Familiar with CNC controls and programming techniques
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment; experience in the automotive industry is an asset
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of conventional machine methods is an asset
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to work well independently or in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
Language Skills
  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written)
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work indoors. Environment can be noisy and involve dealing with temperatures (e.g., extreme heat)
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 30 lbs
  • Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights or continental
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Able to work overtime when required
Bonuses and Additional Points
  • Experience with SPS, 5S, or Continuous Improvement activities
  • Previous experience handling hazardous waste in an industrial setting
