Job summary

Katch Kan is seeking a CNC Programmer in Canada to program, set up and operate CNC machinery to produce precision components per drawings. You will work with Production, Operations, and R&D to support production requirements, product development, and continuous improvement.

Minimum 2-year diploma in CNC machining or programming and at least 2 years of CNC programming/machining experience; oil and gas experience is a plus. Familiarity with CAD tools and Office 365 is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, specs to determine CNC requirements.
  • Create/modify CNC programs to meet dimensions and tolerances.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines and related equipment.
  • Measure parts to verify dimensional accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with Operations to prioritize jobs and meet timelines.
  • Support R&D during product development and prototyping.
  • Provide CNC machining and 3D printing input where applicable.
  • Troubleshoot programming and machine issues and make adjustments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Introduction:
Position Title - CNC Programmer

This is a full-time position responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery to produce precision components according to drawings and specifications. The CNC Programmer will work closely with the Production, Operations, and R&D teams to support production requirements, product development, and continuous improvement.

Job Specific Accountabilities
  • Review blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and technical specifications to determine machining requirements for Katch Kan components.
  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs to produce accurate parts according to required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines and other shop equipment to complete production and custom machining work.
  • Measure and inspect completed parts to verify dimensional accuracy and ensure they meet drawing and quality requirements.
  • Work closely with Operations and Production to prioritize jobs, establish timelines, and meet production requirements.
  • Collaborate with R&D during product development and prototyping, providing practical input on machining, manufacturability, materials, and installation.
  • Support prototype and new product development through CNC machining and, where applicable, 3D printing.
  • Troubleshoot programming, machining, tooling, and equipment issues and make adjustments as required.

Recommended Education & Experience
  • Minimum 2 year diploma in CNC machinist/programming or related technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC programming and machining.
  • Oil and gas experience an asset.

Job Hazards:
  • Daily commuting to and from work.

  • Potential exposure to chemicals and materials used in the manufacturing process, which may pose risks such as chemical burns, respiratory issues, or fire hazards.
