Job summary

Fastco Canada is seeking a CNC Operator to set up, run and maintain CNC machines for precision parts in tire manufacturing. This hands-on role supports a fast-paced, team-oriented production line and requires quality control with calipers and micrometers.

Responsibilities include selecting tooling, loading materials, operating 3-axis vertical CNC mills, and performing routine maintenance while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Vocational training in machining.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of 3 axis vertical CNC mills.
  • Proficiency using calipers, micrometers and measuring instruments to examine parts adequately.
  • Excellent math and computer skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry would be an asset.
  • Ability to operate a forklift would be an asset.

  • Communicate with management and coworkers to achieve goals.
  • Maintain and clean machinery and workspace.
  • Follow shop safety standards at all times.

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Production & Maintenance Manager, The CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts used in the tire manufacturing process. This is a hands-on role that plays a key part in our production line, ensuring high-quality output in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

RESPONSABILITIES
  • Review work orders and to determine machining operations.
  • Set up and operate machine tools to perform repetitive machining operations such as milling, drilling, boring, or other machining operations.
  • Check the dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Load and position proper material on to CNC.
  • Select proper tooling and programs as per job requirements on all machines.
  • Monitor material to ensure quality standards are met.
