The Cloud Business Development Engineer (BDE) is responsible for technical sales support within Fortinet sales organization. Typical activities include product demonstrations, objection handling, and champion building with potential customers. As a trusted technical advisor, the BDE helps drive end-user sales activity. The role requires excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills, and previous experience with Cloud and security architectures. You will help prospective customers and partners understand the benefits of Fortinet solutions for securing the Cloud, explaining technical features and problem solving.

Cloud Business Development Engineer, you will:
  • Work with the direct sales team to help identify and qualify business opportunities, identify key customer technical objections and to help develop technical strategy.
  • Support the technical relationship with customers and the coordination of additional technical resources.
  • Deliver demos to customers and work hands-on with customers to demonstrate value in customer environments.
  • Recommend security best practices, cloud architecture, platforms and application infrastructure required to implement a complete cloud security solution.
  • Bring constructive feedback from customers to product management to improve products.
  • Expect some travel (30%).
We Are Looking For:
  • 5+ Years Experience serving in the capacity of a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Experience securing applications/ workloads with Network and Web Application Firewalls.
  • Experience in and understanding of cloud deployments and architecture - especially as it relates to security and compliance.
  • Experience presenting and delivering technical demo's to executives and architects.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.
  • Self-starter, highly flexible and can work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic sales environment.
Nice to Have:
  • AWSCertified Solutions Architect or equivalent from Azure or GCP
  • Previous compliance audit experience.
  • Scripting and DevOps experience. Understanding Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Puppet, Chef or Ansible.
  • Container and Kubernetes experience.
  • Previous work with CNAPP/ CSPM solutions.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
